a few buddies and I went to see the always hilarious, always fun-as-fook, MoWo do his thing last night at the newish “le poisson rouge.” Old school rave kids will remember this space as “life,” the place where the crystal method’s dat stopped mid-”performance.” ahhh good times, good times.
anywho, enough flashbacks, here are my Mocean Worker Photos from the JVC Jazz fest.
njoi! (get it? get it? old school? njoi? ahhh never mind!
)

well, it seems as if mr trent quickly got over his original dissapointments in the “pay what you want” model of music distribution, eh? then again, the fact that he made $750,000 from the limited editons of “ghosts” in a single day probably helped ease his pain
. as a virtual buy back of sorts, he posted his new record “the slip” for free late last night.
love trent’s lil comment on nin.com … “thank you for your continued and loyal support over the years - this one’s on me”
good stuff, this.

took me a week to get these up since i was fighting off some evil flu… but, hey, better late than never, right?
the boys rocked it as always…i was silly impressed at the whole show, really. ( the live version of monolith was especially \w/ )
if you haven’t listened to them before do it. do it now.
now, on with the purty peeektures! Hopewell @ Cakeshop photos.

I’ve been looking at this monitor farrr too long today so i’m going to make this short.
Here are my photos from The Duke Spirit at Bowery Ballroom.

I’m not good at this stuff, i’m really not. i’m also questioning if it’s even proper to post about something like this on my “blog” … but upon further thought i feel like not acknowledging it isn’t right either.
statenews.com - article on tim’s death.
Tim was one of my many record store / DJ / Club friends from the boston days. i’d run into him here and there, smile, babble about music, and inevitably i’d walk away thinking ‘Fffffffffff that guy knows his shit!’. There aren’t many people out there that can show me up musically, but Tim did on a regular basis and I loved every minute of it.
again, i’m not good at these things (obviously) so i think that i’ll let mr. teep take it from here. RIP Tim, i’ll miss our random chats … see you at the big record show in the sky …
updated: 3.21.08 > many, many others have posted lil tributes to tim … links to those in the ‘read more’ section. also if you’re in Boston they’ll be holding a tribute to him @ the enormous room - 567 cambridge ave from 9-1am. open decks, just bring records that Tim would have liked. (i love this idea)
